This album although initially didn’t garner much attention, went on to change our lives dramatically. It has been ranked by Rolling Stone as one of the “Greatest Albums of All Time”, by NME Magazine as the “No. 2 Best Album Recorded at Abbey Road Studios“, and Q Magazine said it was one of “Best British Albums Ever”, but it will always be our first born and we’re very proud of it’s accomplishments. Rod pays tribute to the late Keith Emerson
Posted on March 21st, 2016 in Music, News, The ZombiesRod has recently made a statement over on The Zombies Facebook page sharing his sadness about the passing of the late, great Keith Emerson, “t’s over a week now since Keith Emerson died, and I must say I’ve been really saddened that the passing of this fantastic musician and monster creative talent hasn’t been marked in a greater and more unequivocal way by the press and broadcasting media. I may have missed something, but I didn’t catch ANYTHING at all on the BBC ….. quite incredible.
And the meanness and short-sightedness of the people, without any ability of their own, who latterly criticised his continuing to play, without any sympathy or understanding of the difficulties he suffered from muscular and nerve problems in his right hand and arm….it truly is depressing.
Keith was a true musician in every sense of the word; a great keyboardist whose playing was always full of fire and invention. He never dumbed down the high content of what he did, yet still managed to connect and communicate with many millions of people – a remarkable achievement. When I heard, not so long ago, from a couple of different people that Keith liked my playing, it felt like one of the most rewarding compliments I’d ever been paid. He was truly one of the few.”
RIP Keith
